Four civic hospitals have linked laboratory results to a shared record that the patient can open on a phone. A blood test done at one site can be read at another without a paper slip, which used to be lost between the ward and the referral.
Doctors insisted on a narrow start. Only results from the last ninety days are visible, and imaging is not included. A radiologist said a scan is too easy to misread without the note that accompanied it, and the note is not in the first release.
What happens next
Patients create the login at the laboratory desk, not through a general app store account. Staff said that extra step is slower and prevents a relative from opening a record with only a phone number.
The health department will watch whether referral hospitals stop repeating the same test. If the repeat rate does not fall, the link is a convenience and not yet a saving.
Taj Today will update this report if the official numbers or the timetable change. Related coverage stays on the Technology page.
